Halloween

After hearing that Grandpa Hansen had a seizure and was in the hospital, Erica and I went to visit and bring him flowers.  He was on a lot of pain medication and not communicating very well on Wednesday.  It was good to be there to support him and my sweet Grandma, though.  I am so grateful to have had the chance to spend lots of time with them this summer.  I feel like I really know them for the first time in my life.  They are absolutely incredible.  I have never known two more selfless people.  When I asked Grandma if there was anything we could do for them, she expressed concern that no one would be passing out candy at her house.

Erica, Lisa, Kim, Rachel, and I happily went to Orem and handed out candy.  There weren't a whole lot of kids knocking on the door, but it was nice to be in a real house for Halloween.  Erica and I decided to capitalize on the situation and go trick-or-treating.  Everyone thought we were 14 or so anyway.  We even got silly stringed by a 12-year-old boy!  Why didn't 12-year-olds hit on me when I was actually 12?  It was a fun night and we were happy to help in our small way.

On Thursday, I colored my hair again! I'm not going to be working in a salon for the rest of my life, so I might as well enjoy it while I can.  I just added some subtle low-lights. Hannah colored her hair too.

I visited Grandpa again on Friday with my cousins Jen and Spencer.  He was much more coherent without the pain medication, but clearly in a lot of pain when he moved.  Grandma is still faithfully watching over him. She is an angel!

After visiting the hospital, some kids from my ward went to Wreck-It-Ralph.  It was soooo cute and I highly recommend it!  We also hit up Deseret Book and had to resist buying a million pictures of the temple.  I love that store...

Sorry this is such a huge block of text.  I figure that those of you who want to will read it and everyone else can look at the pictures...  :)  But I want to have it written down.  Saturday I did a lot of studying, then I went to the basketball game to man a booth for Studio 1030, then went to Walmart with the same ward friends.  We bought some hair chalk and a pet plant named Stanley.  We also took a ton of paint chips to decorate our window!  I'll show you the window when it's done.

This week was sort of the calm before the storm...  I'm grateful to have had a nice, calm week, but next week I have two major essays due and three mid-terms.  I'm really struggling to find the motivation to do the things I know I should do to prepare.  My biggest struggle so far in college is that I haven't found my drive.  So many people have something that they are fighting for or something they are passionate about.  I need to find what that is for me.  If I want to be successful here, I need a goal.  Right now I feel like I'm just surviving with no real vision.  Wish me luck and keep me in your prayers!

Oh, and here's my schedule for winter semester.  It's still going to be revised... Let me know what you think I should change!
